Tanker Semi Trailers
September 27th, 2007 by Shenron
You’ve seen these on the backs of semis, usually you’ve seen them traveling alongside you down the road, and you’ve never stopped to really notice how they looked. Tanker trailers carry liquid merchandise such as oil, milk, and/or chemicals to another destination. Usually these are truck trailers equipped as a tanker trailer – yet with the extended length it is surely not going to be located on the back of a pickup. Tractor trucks are capable of wielding a tanker trailer and delivering them across the nation. The circular space keeps the liquid substances such as the ones listed before more compatible and easier to maneuver.
Tanker semi trailers are referenced for their size and volume capacity. With the larger type trucks, the storage capacity may range from 4,000 gallons to 9,000 gallons. These can transport large amounts of liquefied materials or gases quickly for the company standards. The cylindrical shape helps maintain the fluids while laying horizontally. Most tankers are either insulated, or non-insulated; pressurized or non-pressurized.
Large tanker trailers are used to transport petrol to several filling stations daily. Liquid goods are in a large variety that is transported within these tanker semi trailers. Cement is a common product that is transported, milk, diesel and industrial chemicals as stated above. With the common smaller tankers that hold a capacity of less than 3,000 US gallons, are typically used to deal with light liquefied cargo that are shipped within a personal community for easy access and transportation. These tanker trailers are equipped with a pumping system to help with their own needs and wanted resources. Also, with the common use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas to deliver fuel to certain households, they could carry over 1,000 gallons of LPG under pressure.
An example of a small tanker is a septic service truck. These trucks are used to vacuum clean several septic tanks and then deliver the material to a collection site where it is then deposited there. These also have a maximum capacity of near or around 3,000 gallons.

Reefer Semi Trailers
September 26th, 2007 by Shenron
With the production of temperature sensitive cargo, the reefer trucks (also known as the refrigerator trucks), acts as a temperature stabilizer in which will keep the temperature of the cargo at a regular temperature, making sure it doesn’t go to low or go to high. Gen sets, or diesel powered generators are attached to the container while on the road. These gen sets are very useful when driving. Most likely drivers will stop at a land based site because the reefer semi trailers rely on external power for the integral refrigeration unit that they run off of. This is where the temperature of the cargo is managed and maintained.
With water cooling systems, reefers that are stored below decks on a vessel to get rid of the heat generated through the lack of enough ventilation. These cooling systems are expensive, so ventilation is a major task to keep up with, so the vessels who are holding the cargo don’t have to use the water cooling systems.
The Reefer Semi Trailers use many other different refrigeration systems to maintain an adequate temperature for all loads. Up to date cryogenic reefers are in business with transporting cold foodstuffs, but fail to gain the acceptance they need to make it a more common use for transporting such materials. These cryogenic reefers are stored on any vessel that allows un-refrigerated ocean freight containers. Revenue for the refrigerated shipments is something people look for, yet when a vessel is a typically dry freight load does not render virtually as much as the refrigerated units beforehand.
Liquid Carbon Dioxide is another commonly used refrigeration instrument in the Reefer Semi Trailers, and was developed to respond to the rising fuel costs. These were developed to try and find an alternative to the fuel, maintenance, and creating emissions.

Box Semi Trailers
September 25th, 2007 by Shenron
These are probably the most common trailers used for hauling and pulling large equipment loads. These trailers can hold as much as you can fit inside, and are capable of pushing the cargo down the road at an easy, steady pace without any problems. An ideal use of transporting items or any other idea you can find that it could be used for, this will be able-bodied to charge the entire structure down the road with no delay.
With the shape of a box, the steady balance is one of a kind, and is most common in a tower’s lifestyle. Many people will usually pull these Box Semi Trailers down the road hooked up to a Semi Truck for more support and easy loading – this is one of those things that you got to have, otherwise you’ll have a hard time pulling it down the road without an 18 wheeler. And, with the circular motion that the Box Semi Trailer is capable of, it has a smaller turning circle than its overall length.
Flexibility is key in delivering objects. Yet, with flexibility there are it’s disadvantages. The high center of gravity pushing down on it makes it less stable and can cause problems near in the future. With all its disadvantages, the advantages are what it’s known for, such as in the event of a breakdown of the certain truck, the driver can still get the cargo to the destination with no overdue delay which is a serious matter to the workers. Also, with the full trailer being incapable of reversing easily and more maneuverable, the Box Semi Trailer can be reversed with no questions asked when hooked up to a tractor unit, and seems to be one of the best ways to transport goods to other businesses or persons.

Trailer Winch
September 21st, 2007 by Shenron
Do not confuse a winch to be a placeholder of a boat or any other particular vehicle. Trailer Winches are designed to load and unload boats. Winches are capable of being released when there is a large bump in the road, and the winch unlatches. To keep these winches from releasing from the boat, use separate tie-downs to ensure that it won’t move after hitting major bumps. For minor bumps, these Trailer Winches shouldn’t come loose, if they do, you might want to invest in one that is assured safety wise before buying.
There are many different types of winches that you are capable of using on a boat, which is the most common use for a Trailer Winch. To minimize the shoulder and back strain you might want to purchase an electric winch. With a free hand to guide the boat, and no strain at all to the muscles in your shoulders and back, this is a one of a kind type of winch that is extremely useful.
Winches with the capacity rating of at least half the combined weight of your boat, motor, and other gear that may increase the weight. Trailers usually have a standard winch assembly bolt pattern, so if the winch you are using is poor, you can replace it with no stress.
With some boats, the general design and construction may increase how much the boat may weigh, so that’s something you have to calculate and figure up. Such things that may weigh down the boat are, gasoline capacity, pounds of ice, fish, and any other items in the boat. Length is not pulled with winches, instead, the weight is. Be sure you are selecting the proper winch. Find out your boats weight and estimate its overall payload. Chafe on the winch line can be caused by it rubbing against sharp edges on the trailer or on the winch stand.
