2008 Ford Edge
September 21st, 2008 by Justin
For those looking for a SUV, the brand Ford is one of the top. Although Ford has been suffering some financial problems, the one forte they have always been good at is creating reliable and functional SUV’s. One SUV that is now available and quite popular compared to the other, larger vehicles is the 2008 Ford Edge.
The Ford Edge Is a MidSize SUV
The Ford Edge offers an affordable way to get plenty of space and some off road capability. While most will use this vehicle for bringing Johnny to the soccer game or commuting to work, it does offer snappy performance. The engine is a 3.5L V6 that offers a commendable 265 hp and 250 pounds of torque. However, even with a fairly decent mid size engine, many should expect to get good gas mileage. The Edge get about 24 miles to the gallon on the highway, but less than satisfactory 16 miles in the city.
The Chassis of the Ford Edge is quite sufficient with McPherson struts, HD gas pressurized rear shocks and rack and pinion steering. The Ford Edge also has some decent towing power of 3500 pounds which is more than enough for most outdoor enthusiasts looking to transport their ATV or dirt bikes to the track.
Plenty of Creature Comforts
One of the areas that this vehicle excels in is creature comforts. Many may think of this vehicle as a grandiose station wagon for hauling the family in luxury. Ford does pull all the stops with some very nice extras including top rated entertainment systems and a Vista moon roof that offers plenty of light and makes the interior feel larger. The price for Ford Edge can vary considerably depending on options, however the range is: $25K to $32K.
