2009 Ford Escape XLT 4WD
October 21st, 2008 by Justin
While the 2009 Ford Escape XLT 4WD does not have that many changes from the past years model, many of those looking for an SUV with a smaller footprint, a very nice amount of interiors space, decent fuel economy and a good MSRP will find the Ford Escape very competitive for the 2009 year.
Ford Escape Trims
There are currently 3 trims for the 2009 Ford Escape. They include the XLS, XLT and the Limited Trim. It should also be noted that the 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid returns this year now in two different trims- Standard and Limited. Regarding trim levels, the XLT offers middle of the road luxury that will satisfy most drivers. While the Ford Escape XLT offers 4WD, most that purchase the Escape will not be predisposed to take this vehicle off road. However, the 4WD feature will definitely come in handy in the rain, sleet and snow.
2009 Ford Escape XLT Tech Specs
The 2009 Ford Escape XLT offers a surprisingly peppy engine- a 3.0 dual overhead cam that delivers a modest 240 horsepower perfect for driving the kids to school, as well as getting decent gas mileage. This vehicle comes with a 6 speed automatic transmission and has a curb weight just shy of 3,600 pounds. Again, expect decent gas mileage of about 24 mpg on the highway and a little less in the city. If you are interested in how fast the Ford Escape XLT accelerates from 0 to 60, you will be impressed that it reaches 60 mph in about 7.5 seconds. The MSRP for this vehicle at the XLT trim level is budget friendly at $25K to $28K, depending on the options you choose. Overall the 2009 Ford Escape (Check more on the Ford Escape Hybrid) XLT is a very good value and perfect for those that would like the functionality of a 4WD vehicle without a large footprint and horrendous gas mileage.
