And it’s specially prepared for the job, with racing-grade chassis and suspension and tires and… an EcoBoost engine!

The Ford F150 EcoBoost Baja racer gets a 3.5-liter engine with 365 hp at 5,000 rpm and 420 lb.-ft. of torque at 2,500 rpm.

This might be a heavy duty racing engine with extraordinary capabilities to tolerate rough conditions of Baja, but it’s also quite frugal for its type.

2011 Dodge Ram Pickup

Chrysler has also upgraded the Dodge Ram range for 2011 including the Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cab trucks and Dakota and heavy duty models.

The new models can be had with either a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine or the powerful 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel. The first does 390 horsepower and 20 mpg highway which is really astonishing.

Also returning for 2011 is the award-winning Ram Power Wagon. The Ram Power Wagon is the most capable factory-equipped off-road-ready pickup truck on the road. It’s equipped with electric-locking front and rear differentials, an electronic disconnecting sway bar, Bilstein shocks, 33-inch BFGoodrich off-road tires, underbody skid plate protection, a 4.56 axle ratio for hill climbing and a custom-built Warn 12,000-lb. winch cleverly hidden behind the front bumper.

Jeep Patriot Upgrades For 2011

The latest edition of the Jeep Patriot is by far the most advanced version of the car not only in terms of the technicalities, but also luxury and convenience.

It does come with a lot of highly advanced 4×4 technologies, but what like more is the upgraded interior which now has higher quality and new gadgets. That makes offroading much more fun!

Of course the car is upgraded on the outside as well, but we know that what Patriot buyers really care about is the fact that the 2011 model features 19:1 crawl ratio, brake traction control, 19-inch water fording capability, Hill Descent Control, 4×4 Lock shift-on-the-fly which sends 50 percent of torque to front and rear wheels, and a maximum tow rating of 2,000 lbs.

You can have the new Patriot with two or four-wheel-drive, and in three trim levels including Sport, Latitude and Latitude X.

Nissan announced pricing for Pathfinder, Xterra and Frontier

Nissan America announced official pricing of their new offroader SUV and pickup trucks for 2011.

The new bunch includes 2011 Nissan Pathfinder SUV, Xterra SUV and Frontier mid-size pickup. All models come with upgraded powertrians and equipments. There are new additions to the lineup as well, including Pathfinder 25th Anniversary Silver Edition, Distinctive Xterra PRO-4X and Frontier S Crew Cab Models.

“We’re looking forward to a successful year with Pathfinder, Xterra and Frontier,” said John Brancheau, vice president, Marketing, Nissan Division, NNA. “Every customer need is met in the functionality of the Pathfinder, the iconic appeal of the Xterra, and the great value proposition of the Frontier.”
