Kia Motors has launched the new generation of Sorento SX crossover in America. It is the first model to be produced at Kia’s recently opened manufacturing plant in West Point, Georgia.
The 2011 Sorento comes with a totally new design inside and out and also features lots of new technologies.
Unlike the previous model which was a full on SUV, the new Sorento tends to be more of a Crossover, or CUV as they call it. It also comes with a Unibody structure which means the chassis and the body are integrated, just like a mid-size sedan. It is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 276 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque.
The Sorento SX comes standard with leather-trimmed seats, heated front seats, electrochromatic mirror with Homelink® and a voice-activated navigation system with back-up camera. The optional toys include an AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with SIRIUS Satellite Radio capabilities, auxiliary and USB audio input jacks for connecting personal MP3 players, and Bluetooth®2connectivity with steering wheel-mounted voice activation controls toenable hands-free operation for all compatible mobile phones, the SXalso comes standard with an Infinity® Audio surround sound system with 10 speakers.
