The All Wheel Drive Cadillac SRX
December 30th, 2008 by Justin
While Acura and Infinity have both done well with their crossover SUV type vehicles, Cadillac has also picked up some steam with theirs. Cadillac is usually known for its larger SUV vehicles including its very bling Escalade, however there other less stated vehicles that not only offer true Cadillac comfort, but also plenty of utility and capability, the SRX is one of them. The Cadillac SRX is a mix between a minivan and the drivability of a comfortable sedan. Add in plenty utility of an SUV and you have the SRX. Yes, the SRX tries to be a lot of things to many different people, but in the end, it does look very nice and performs well and it still is a Cadillac.
Under the Hood of the Cadillac SRX
The SRX comes in two main flavors, a rear wheel drive and an all wheel drive configuration. It should be noted that the SRX offers up to 7 passenger seating with the 3rd row that many SUV’s and minivans now make available. There are two engines available for the SRX and while both are peppy and more than adequate, we definitely recommend the larger 4.6 liter Northstar V8 engine that comes with a 6 speed automatic transmission. The smaller engine is a 3.6 liter V6 that produces a perfectly capable 255 horsepower.
Plenty of Amenities and Safety Features
Like all minivans, the Cadillac SRX does feature plenty of safety features and stability trac modes. The vehicle comes also with 17 inch wheels and plenty of nice amenities such as leather seating, power liftgate, Xenon headlights and much, much more. The price for the SRX ranges from about $37K to $49K depending on style and features. The SRX is a crossover and yes, it is a little pricey, but it does offer plenty of luxury and a great name plate.

2009 Cadillac Escalade EXT 4 Door Sport Utility Pick Up
December 8th, 2008 by Justin
Cadillac has definitely changed its brand image from just about a decade ago when most people that bought a Cadillac were either in or heading for retirement. With a much more muscular brand and a wealth of great looking vehicles that state luxury and status, the Cadillac is once again on the top of the mountain looking down. The 2009 Cadillac Escalade EXT 4 door sport utility pick up is no exception and while this vehicle offers a wide range of configurations, what’s important to note is that this vehicle offers plenty of luxury and utility- if you need it. Whether you are a 4×4 enthusiast or just would like to get the largest pick up available that offers plenty of luxury features, the EXT pretty much satisfies all types of drivers.
Under the Hood of the Escalade EXT
Under the hood of the Escalade EXT, you will find a very powerful engine with lots of performance. The EXT offers a Gen IV 6.2 liter Vortec V8 VV2 which is also E85 fuel capable. This engine produces a peppy 403 horsepower and 417 lb ft of torque. The EXT offers all wheel drive with a split 40/60 front/rear torque split which gives it lots of power at lower speeds. Matching this fine engine is an automatic 6 speed that offers driver shift control as well as a tow/haul option.
Inside the Cadillac Escalade EXT
While you may never take this vehicle off road or tow a boat from behind, this vehicle definitely has what it takes to hit the trails if need be. The EXT offers a pick up that can be configured to easily expand, however, the EXT can also easily fit 5 adults comfortably. Inside you will find all the amenities that one would expect from a Cadillac. Regarding price, base price for the EXT is about $55K. With plenty of features, this vehicle will cost you just under $60K. All in all, the Cadillac definitely delivers luxury and status.

Cadillac Escalade – 2008
June 6th, 2008 by Shenron
When it comes to luxury SUVs, few are as popular and as well thought of as the Cadillac Escalade. The Escalade combines the high quality features that have been a signature factor in the popularity of the Cadillac with the all-terrain capability of an SUV. Anyone carrying a large number of people, adults and children alike, who doesn’t want to give up on their desires to travel in style need look no further than the Cadillac Escalade in their search for an automobile that meets their every need.
The Cadillac Escalade was introduced in 1999 as Cadillac’s answer to the Ford Motor Company’s Lincoln Navigator. The Escalade was popular with celebrities and the wealthy from the day it was released. There seems to be no limit to the amount of accessories available for the Escalade, many of them are manufactured by companies independent of Cadillac and many are only available through the Cadillac company itself. The 2008 Cadillac Escalade picks up the luxury SUV torch and carries it on into the future, representing very well the legendary name of Cadillac.
the 2008 Cadillac Escalade comes armed with a 6.2 liter V-8 engine which throws out a very robust 403 horsepower. The six-speed automatic transmission successfully propels the Escalade down the road and the shifting is almost unnoticeable. The Escalade is head-to-toe covered in polish and shine on the interior, but don’t be deceived as under the hood the Escalade is all about pure raw power. As powerful as it is, there is also the option of getting a 2008 Escalade Hybrid which features a 25 percent increase in fuel efficiency over the standard model. It is able to achieve this through the use of two independent electric motors that assist the vehicle under slower moving traffic and normal city driving situations.
Some of the many options available for the 2008 Cadillac Escalade are things like: satellite navigation, rear view live image cameras, 52.8cm rims, dual zone climate control, headrest mounted DVD screens, and Ipod/MP3 compatible surround sound stereos. One of the things to keep an eye out for in the future of Cadillac Escalades is the use of what is known as Smart Engine technology that will reduce the number of operational cylinders based on the performance needs of the vehicle at the time, saving engine wear and fuel at the same time.
The Cadillac Escalade is known for its luxury features and flashy appearance. Many high profile people travel regularly in a Cadillac Escalade, but the Escalade is more than that. The Escalade combines a great amount of power with the top of the line comfort and quality that Cadillac has been known for since its debut to bring to the public a four wheel drive vehicle that can comfortably carry the whole family or group wherever they need to go. The company has even taken steps to increase fuel efficiency with a more environmentally friendly version of the same vehicle available. Truly one of the finest automobiles on the market today.
