2010 Dodge Caliber

Chrysler has released details of the 2010MY Caliber crossover revealing that it won’t get AWD or SRT treatment, and comes with the 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine as standard.

The Caliber is best considered as a tall hatchback in the C-segment, rather than a real crossover! But after all it is based on the same platform as the Jeep Compass and Patriot.

The 2.0 liter I4 engine of Caliber replaces the last year’s 1.8 liter and develops 156 hp and 190 Nm of torque. The car will come in three trim levels of SE, SXT and SXT Sport Plus. The top of the range model features things like ABS, air-con, heated mirrors, power door locks, key less entry, 17-inch wheels, and touring suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes, fog lamps, speed control, body colour accents, Sirrus, leather wrapped steering wheel, power heated mirrors. Furthermore it comes with active head restraints and iPod connectivity as standard.

Pricing for 2010 Dodge Caliber starts at $16,495 for the SE, and $18,795 for the SXT, while the Sport Plus model costs $20,990.

Beating Toyota Tundra, the new 2010 2010 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty series have been Named ‘Truck of the Year’ by Motor Trend’s editors.

“The 2010 Ram Heavy Duty absolutely nailed the award in terms of our criteria, from the attractive exterior styling, to the plush and quiet cabins, to the tough and capable powertrains, especially the impressive Cummins diesel, which meets 50-state emissions standards without needing expensive after-treatment technology,” said Angus MacKenzie, Editor-in-Chief, Motor Trend. “It delivers the capability heavy duty truck users demand, with style and refinement they perhaps did not expect.” The contenders are evaluated using six criteria, which includes design advancement, engineering excellence, intended function, efficiency, safety and value. To be eligible, a vehicle must have been substantially changed from the previous model.

2010 Dodge Ram HD features a redesigned body and comes with many new innovative features. Available in five different trims with unique styling – ST, SLT, TRX, Power Wagon and Laramie, the Ram can be had with either the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine with 350 horsepower (261 kW) and 650 lb.-ft. of torque (881 N*m), or the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 gasoline engine which develops 383 horsepower (286 kW) and 400 lb.-ft. of torque (542 N*m).

Chrysler has announced the 2010 version of the iconic Dodge Ram coming in 2500 and 3500 heavy duty models, with many new features but cheaper price than the 2009 model.

The new Ram starts at $28,165 which is more than a grand less than last year’s price. The car is available with two choices for the engine, a 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel with 350 hp and 650 lb-ft. of torque, and a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with variable-valve timing developing 383 hp and 400 lb.-ft. of torque.

The all-new 2010 Ram Heavy Duty features three cab styles (regular cab, crew-size cab and Mega Cab) and two cargo-box sizes (6-foot, 4-inches and 8-foot), single- and dual-rear-wheel configurations, five trim levels, all-new exterior and interior styling and superior towing capability.

The all-new 2010 Ram is available with a starting U.S. Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $28,165 for regular cab models, $31,415 for crew cab models and $36,865 for Mega Cab models. All prices include $950 for destination. The all-new 2010 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty arrives in dealerships in late 2009 calendar year.

The Dodge Ram 2500 is a Tough Truck

Dodge has an awesome reputation for creating some of the best trucks on the market.  For decades the Dodge Ram has proven itself as one of the best built trucks available and with its distinctive styling and plenty of convenient features the Dodge Ram continues today to be one of the top selling trucks available.  While there are models of the Dodge Ram truck including the 1500 and the brawny 3500.  For most serious truck owners that require a very strong and capable truck, the Ram 2500 fits nicely.

The Ram 2500 offers both a 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive configuration.  There are two engines available for the 2500.  They include the standard 5.7 liter V8 that creates 345 horsepower and 375 lb ft of torque.  This engine is quite capable for practically all drivers.  However, if you are heavy tower or hauler, you might look into the exceptional 5.9 liter Cummins turbodiesel which produces a massive 325 horses and 610 lb ft of torque.  This engine is matched with a 4 speed automatic.

The Ram 2500 comes in plenty of configurations including a regular cab, super cab and mega cab.  It should be noted that the mega cab gives you a condo like interior, but takes a way a few inches of the bed.  Regarding the quality of the interior, inside you will find a very comfortable, roomy area with a nicely designed dash and many of the amenities that you will find in a passenger car.  Included are quite a few amenities that make working off site more manageable- as many now use their truck as a second office once on the road.
