Freightliner Sport Chassis
June 1st, 2007 by shenron
The Freightliner Truck is well known as one of the more powerful medium-duty truck lines in the world, with three hundred horsepower engines that run off of diesel, and a huge cab capacity for functionality and comfort. Their sports chassis comes in several models but with the same essential makeup for hauling. The four models are the RHA 114, the RHL131, the mighty RHL185. I will briefly cover each of the Freightliner Sport Chassis vehicles and highlight what they can do. Hitching on the sports chassis means that you are pulling from the frame rails, not the body, and therefore it is less stress on the structure and gives it a longer better life.
- Freightliner Sport Chassis RHA114
The RHA114 comes hand painted with an all aluminum body that has a cargo surface of six and a half feet wide and nine and a third feet long with enough space to lay a king size mattress flat - it also has six tie down rings. It also has external storage of about twenty cubed feet and behind the cab there is a little bit more than eight and a half whole cubed feet of space on the drivers side with the wheel well being a single door compartment of nearly two cubic feet. The passengers side behind the cab it is the same amount of cubic feet at a little more than eight and a half, while behind the wheel well it is again the same size at having nearly two cubic feet of space, also comes with a 300 HP engine.

The doors are constructed from extruded frames, the hinges are stainless steel and they are adjustable, and all doors have a barrier strip to protect against weathering. The external storage compartments provide almost eight cubic feet of space, and inside the cab on the drivers side there is twenty seven cubic feet (plus a smidgen more) and the same applies to the passenger side. A 300 HP engine gives it the power it needs.
- Freightliner Sport Chassis RHL185
This is the big daddy of the Sports Chassis series with everything possible included. The features from the previous two are included in this one along with some more! This truck literally has a garage on its back that can have anything stored in it, from ATVs to bikes, to whatever you can fit! The garage has an additional reinforced rear cargo for two more motorcycles or bikes, the external storage is 419 feet, and the full VT Track in the garage provides easy security of the items in and out of the vehicle. The drivers side has a whopping 176 cubic feet of space, as does the passengers side with enough storage to fit just about anything and everything, and you can have an optional 330 HP engine.
