The mighty Range Rover is getting an all-new powertrain for 2011 along with a couple of cosmetic and mechanical upgrades, so it can retain its position as the world’s most best luxury SUV.
This new engine is a 4.4 liter TDV8 diesel unit which replaces the old 3.6 liter, and has 313 hp and 700 Nm of torque. This engine really is in tune with the time with its average fuel consumption of 31 mpg.
The new model also gets a new ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox coming with a rotary dial instead of the traditional lever, and upgraded Terrian Response system with Hill Start Assist and Gradient Acceleration Control.
As for the styling, the car gets a few minor tweaks such as the new grille and gilles, 20-inch wheels or new body colors. But then Range Rover has a unique timeless design which doesn’t need to be changed!
