Truck Repair Business
June 1st, 2007 by Shenron
The Truck Repair Business is a lucrative endeavor to undertake, however having the capital and materials ready to repair all makes and models of trucks and tractor/trailers is a difficult, costly, and at times frustrating endeavor. You will need more than a hundred thousand, perhaps higher, to invest into this and you will need to find knowledgeable employees who are qualified to repair all kinds of trucks, from the newest ones with highly sensitive electronics to old ancient ones that were built when auto manufacturing was still more of an art than a science. The truck repair business is also somewhat suffering because many parts are very expensive and render actually repairing a truck more expensive than buying another used one similar to it. If you want to get into the truck repair business but don’t want the effort - don’t even try. However if you are driven, willing to endure the hardships and willing to work extra hours and go the extra mile you might consider buying one that is already in operation and already has the equipment needed.
Truck repair businesses are for sale in many place, however some may not be as good as others. Look for those that are up for auction, and those which have had a good history but may have fallen onto hard times due to the owner’s illness or other reasons. Don’t buy one that has had major problems with employees or with customers - as the reputation will be tarnished as-is. However, if you think you can salvage it, then be my guest to go ahead and try - just be sure you have a business license and all the legalities worked out in your area. Don’t say I didn’t tell you so. The truck repair business is a difficult one that is full of hardships - but if you make it you could make a sizeable income each year
