2011 Mercedes ML63 AMG

Mercedes released a slight update for its top of the line high performance SUV the ML63 AMG to keep it fresh for the 2011 before they replace it with a whole new model a year later.

The changes are really subtle. At front you notice the new smoked bi-xenon headlights, and it’s the same for the LED rear lights. There’s also a new bonnet with power domes and newly designed chrome underguards.

The interior is classic AMG, a sporty atmosphere full of leather and aluminum. So rest assured in the new ML63 nappa leather upholstery for the electrically adjustable AMG sports seats, with Alcantara inserts in the shoulder areas and multicontour function and heating, plus an AMG sports steering wheel with AMG aluminium shift paddles.

The powertrain consisting of a 510 hp 6.3 liter engine and AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC automatic transmission with 4-matic system remains unchanged for the 2011 model. Pricing starts form 105,077 euros.

Unimog U4000 is the ultimate expedition camper!

If you are familiar with Mercedes Unimog, you know that they are considered as the ultimate off-road vehicles which can take you anywhere is absolute comfort.

But a private industrial group has made a car based on the Unimog, which in terms of performance and practicality blows it into the middle of the past week!

The U4000 comes with a unique cabin equipped with bed, fridge, tables, shower, and… as well as a TFT DVD and satellite entertainment system and a diesel-powered Eberspächer hot air heater. This AWD vehicle weighs more than 8.5 tons but with its length of 6.85m, width of 2.35 and height of 3.5, it’s more like a luxury mobile home.

The U4000 is powered by a 160 kW (218 hp), 4249-cc four-cylinder diesel engine and comes with a 290 litres tank plus two 20-litre reserve canisters.

2010 Mercedes M-Class Grand Edition Revealed

To make the 2010 M-Class a bit more interesting, Mercedes Benz announced that customers can now order it with the Grand Edition equipment package.

This high-end treatment includes a few exterior features such as the new 19-inch light-alloy wheels in a Y-spoke design with tyre size 255/50 R19, blue-tinted thermal insulation glass all-round, dark-tinted headlamps and LED lights plus more chrome detailing, and an upgraded interior.

Inside you’ll find high-grade poplar wood trim and a black roof lining, exclusive hard-wearing, breathable and pleasant-feeling ARTICO man-made leather upholstery with contrasting seams and raised piping, 3D-look  ARTICO dashboard, plus some AMG-derived sporty elements such as the steering wheel or pedals.

Pricing for the M-Class Grand Edition starts from 48,590 euros for the V6 diesel and goes up to 64,590 euros for the V8 model.

Right Hand Drive Mercedes G-Class

From Autumn Mercedes will be offering in the UK the right hand drive version of the mighty G-Wagen after ten years.

This awesome 4×4 which turned 30 last year will be offered in the British market with either a diesel engine with the G350 CDI variant, or the full fat G55 AMG KOMPRESSOR powered by a supercharged 5.5 liter V8 developing near as makes no difference 500 hp.

Both the G 350 CDI and the G 55 AMG will feature a wealth of standard equipment including: Automatic climate control; automatic transmission, with high and low gear ratios; Bi-Xenon headlamps, heated seats with memory, leather upholstery (including the dashboard) as well as COMMAND, a reverse parking aid and a Harman Kardon Logic 7 Sound system.

Pricing starts from £79,975 for the G350 and a whopping £114,975 for the G55. OUCH!

2011 Mercedes E350 4-Matic Wagon

At 2010 New York International Auto Show, Mercedes Benz introduced a new variant of the E-class station wagon equipped with a 3.5 liter engine and 4-Matic AWD system, which is a perfect alternative for all the big and thirsty SUVs.

The E350 4Matic Wagon with its clever 60-40 fold-down rear seats offers the same practicality as a SUV but without attracting too much attention. And because it comes with Mercedes’ sophisticated 4-Matic, it’d have no problem dealing with rough terrains.

Another advantage this car has over the big 4x4s is the fuel economy. It also comes packed with high-tech features such as ATTENTION ASSIST system that can alert the driver to the first signs of drowsiness, Lane Keeping Assist, which alerts the driver by simulating rumble strip vibration in the steering wheel if the car drifts from its lane without the turn signals on, and Night View Assist PLUS can now enable a driver to see pedestrians up to 300 feet earlier than before.

It also gets Mercedes’ Pre-Safe and new Command systems.
