The 2009 Nissan Armada
September 17th, 2008 by Justin
If you like big, brawny SUV’s you are going to love the 2009 Nissan Armada. It’s almost amazing that the Armada is manufactured by Nissan, you would think that something this large would could out of the plants in Detroit. However, even with high gas prices, if you require a huge SUV for hauling a large family or a large load (including big trailers) the 2009 Nissan Armada is definitely a winner.
Big is Beautiful
If you loved the late 90’s and the early 2000’s when big SUV’s reigned supreme, this vehicle will definitely get you giddy. The 2009 Nissan Armada is as big and beautiful as both the Chevy Suburban and the Ford Expedition. It comes with a muscular drivetrain that delivers a 5.6 liter V8, 4 wheel drive and a peppy five speed automatic. This engine produces 317 horsepower and enough torque for the biggest loads (385 lb @ 3400 rpm). The one downside is the estimated fuel economy. The Armada is a big drinker and delivers a paltry 14 miles per gallon on the highway- but heck you aren’t buying it for fuel economy.
Big Wheels and Big Loads
While the 2009 Nissan Armada is perhaps not the best vehicle to go off road with, it is the perfect vehicle to haul all your off road toys, whether it is a bunch of ATV’s, a second vehicle, a boat, you name it. The Armada was made for hauling, it offers beefy 20 inch wheels and tires and a third row to ensure everyone on board is comfy. The interior amenities are more than satisfactory and what you would expect in a big comfy cabin.
The price for this bad boy is about $52,000 with plenty of amenities. For those looking for a big hauler in the same vein as the Chevy Suburban or Ford Expedition, the 2009 Nissan Armada definitely impresses.
